COACH JIM KELLY JOINS CHEER SELECT
Mr. Jim Kelly ~ former 12 year coach of Chantilly High School's Varsity Charger cheer team; State winner in 2007 (see below for video of the performance), taking the team TO states for 10 seasons; and won California States last year; now entering his 20th year coaching ~ has joined Cheer Select's first high school competitive team, SHOCK!
Coach Kelly has returned to Virginia and has taken on the roll also of Head Cheer Coach at South County High School, as well as one of the English teachers for 10th and 12th grade. Once his Fall season South County Stallion Cheer team completes, he will begin coaching, along with Donna Stevens, who has coached with us now for 9 years, our SHOCK team.
SHOCK is comprised of rising 9th-12th graders from all local high schools. This team will begin practicing in November at our Cheer Select gym; begin competing in January, and will finish out the season in early May, 2011.
We are thrilled to have Coach Kelly on board with us and look forward to another awesome season ~ YEAR 5 for Cheer Select!
